The Alchemy Effect: Jeff's New Project

It's official. A new band has been formed. After about six months of cramped guest room band practices, countless Amazon deliveries of musical paraphernalia, chilly garage rehearsals, parties, photo shoots and whatever else they've been up to, a show has been booked!

They'll be playing here in Columbus, Georgia with a great local band, Sol', on March 22nd.

Project: Homemade Holiday Snow Globes

Ok, it's been a while since I last posted, but try not to notice! Last night my friend Chrissy and I worked on a snowglobe project that we recently found on Pinterest and it turned out really cute. (Project details found at the Lemonista). We had so much fun working on it and the materials were relatively cheap and easy to find.

Here's everything laid out before we started.

We used train village figurines, tiny holiday trees, and kids toys from the Dollar store, Michaels and WalMart.

There was a bit of trial and error to start. Mostly in figuring out how the pieces would react in water. Certain trees will turn the water green (Chrissy learned this the hard way). So for my first one, I started without water.

Pretty cute, right?

For my second one, I used the train set figurines and added water.

How cute are those? Perfect for holiday gifts and so many possibilities! Friends and family who are reading this, try to act surprised if you happen to recieve one for Christmas!

New Addition: Sydney!

This little cutie will be joining us in just a few weeks! She'll spend a little more time with her siblings and mom and then at the begining of August when she's about 9 weeks old, we get to take her home!

Last weekend we got to meet her and she's just soo cute and tiny! Can't wait to bring her home with us!

First Project in the New House: Office Walls

Projects are slow going right now since our household goods aren't here (and won't be arriving for another couple weeks), but I managed to get one room painted. Here's the inspiration from Design Crisis:

And with that picture I went to Lowes and found the closest match.

Yep, purple. Must have been a kids room before we moved in.

I love the color! Looks much better in person so I'm very happy with the results. On to the next one!
